Gourd Fest August 24-25
Here is a list of what we are planning this year. More to
come as we get the plans in motion.
Sign up now for future classes. All classes were sell outs last
year.
1.
Susie billingsley
will teach weaving on a
gourd basket. choice of three patterns shown below.
Can't find one pictue.9 a.m. each day. ($50.00) Always a sell
out! Supplies furnished.
  
2.
Emily Dilliard
Pressing flowers AND various kinds of paper onto
gourds. All supplies are furnished including the gourd. This
class is different that the one Emily taught last year. . ($25
plus your gourd)
Class starts at 9 p.m. on Saturday. 1 p.m teaching pen &
ink and colored pencil. About two hours.
3.
New! New! New! A must
For teachers
especially...learn how to teach a student how to paint a
Santa on a spoon gourd. Taught by Connie McClure, Rockville
Elemenentary School art teacher.
4. Pen and Ink
class...Sunday 9am & 1 pm
Debby Grunden
Cost is $30 Supplies furnished.
5. Lyn Rehm will
teach a chip carving
class with all supplies provided to make a birdhouse or bowl for
a fee of $25. Saturday only. 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. 10 to 12
people. Very popular!!!!!
6. Barb Cesal Class
- Canceled- After two years of waiting to get a job teaching,
she got called to a job in Chicago.
7. Snowman
at 9 am each day. Samta
Gourd Ornament at 1 pm each day. -
Phyllis Fraser
(well known at the Parke Co Covered Bridge Festival and in
Georgetown, Il as a superb artist and easily sells her work).
$25 9am and 1 pm each day. cost $20.
Supplies furnished.

8. Valene
Alexander, the
Barefoot Artesian
will be a vendor and
have classes also. Teaching several techniques on a gourd. You
will leave with a very nice piece of gourd art. Will be a
charge.

Guy Shutt and Lois (the Gourdguys) will teach the basics
of cleaning, and the different types of art on the gourd.

Demonstrations for Gourd Crafters, especially for beginners.
From starting with an uncleaned
gourd through setting up to a finished product and everything in
between. Something for
everybody by the GourdGuys.ille Elemenentary School art teacher.

Dick Harshman
Vendor selling
tools and supplies. Demonstrating.
11. David Wuttke
Vendor -
David purchased a real
nice collection of Mini Black's famous gourd art from Opal Lilly
and will have some of it on display here.
His wife, Rhona (Turtle Feathers Gourd Art) is famous for blue
ribbon art also. David will also have tools and supplies
available. (Optima Wood burner, books, dyed pine needles, etc.
Charlotte and Derrel Durrance may come with David as vendors.
12. Joe Lee - award winner 6 times the gourd below. Joe
will demonstrate how to put the design on the gourd and wood
burning tips Saturday 9am -12 noon.
13. Denny Wainscott.
(His art is in
galleries all over the South West). (free
demonstrations and chats). Denny will have art for sale.
Saturday morning only. Denny is now selling several pieces
valued at $3000 each.

Gene and Elaine
Endicott. Vendor selling
tools and supplies. Demonstrating
15. Indiana Gourd Society - books and seeds. membership
cards.
16. Debbie
Remsburg...Vendor. an awarding winning gourd artist and best
booth awards at some of her shows.
17. Gregory Meyers
of Evansville, In. Vendor. A coach turned artist. A great
enthusiast for gourd art.
18. Bill & Ann of
Attica, In. Vendor. Great Southwest and Native American art
work.
19. Mary Maris , Vendor, Rockville, In.
19. Gail Leider, Vendor,
The Gourdlady from
Grayslake, Il. Great lady..
Gail will teach walkin's
her talents for $10. This lady is superb.
I will list the vendors as their
names come in.
There will be vendors selling and
demonstrating the uses of tools, supplies, art, and I will have
my gourds on sale. This will be one of my best sales.
Games.
Food and drink by
Master Gardner's will
be here. I have just had part of my yard landscaped. I would
like to show it off (if we don't get a drought.).
